What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Assessment. What genres (Guitar) they are interested in, what songs they wish to learn.
Find out their fundamentals ability, level of play, their goals (same Guitar and Basketball)
Their strengths and weaknesses and create a checklist plan catered to the individual.
I'll go above and beyond to nurture the basketball/Guitar player for the long long haul.

BA in Music Classical Guitar, Piano Ear Training/Choral/Sight Singing/Rhythm/Band/Creative Songwriting/Jazz/Rock Long Term Substitute Teacher
Self educated through league play, watching films, making corrections, creating set plays for my team, and training my own fundamentals on a daily to weekly basis.

*Some guitar students are also doing basketball lessons, in this case special deals may be applied.
How did you get started teaching?
I started by teaching music. I've taught all my life even as a child I taught my peers in academics. I have 15+ years of teaching experience professionally and just transferred those skills and disciplines into basketball my passion.
What types of students have you worked with?
Children to Highschool to College, to Seniors for both Music and Basketball. No one from the NBA, yet!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Winning a game in the double OT with a buzzer beater. I coached this game due to injury, but kept my team in the fight with positive reinforcement and words of encouragement.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Do they cater to your goals? Are you serious about learning and teaching? Is your teacher open minded? Is he or she dedicated to helping support you?
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What needs to improve? What are my strengths and weaknesses? What is their end result? What does this look like? How will they get there? What steps do I need to take? How should I spend my time?
