Dave The Bass Teacher

Hi Dave, the Bass teacher here. I’ve been teaching Bass for about 30 years. I’ve taught people of many different ages and walks of life. I don’t run my lessons like a diet plan, I truly address what the individual in front of me needs. I’ve also been gigging on stage live since the late 70s. Which I will integrate those rules of the road in to the lessons if that’s where you’re at. Of course reading music is important. But we don’t have to go there right away. Music is a language. When you were learning to speak, you did it by emulating sounds and then connected those sounds to the language in order to communicate. I hook up those sounds that you may be hearing in your head to a pragmatic way of teaching. I developed my method of teaching under the training of what I consider excellent players. And played in the jazz program at Long Beach city College.
