Hello! I am a private cello teacher based in North Long Beach. I have students and gig all over Southern California. I hold a bachelor’s and master’s degree in cello performance from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at CSULB where I studied with LA cellist Joon Sung Jun.

I currently work with the Manhattan Beach School District as an elementary school strings assistant. As a private cello teacher I have worked with all age groups. From brand new beginners to returning adult music lovers. My lessons are catered to each student’s individual personality to best help them achieve their cellist goals. I take great pride in guiding and getting to know all of my students. In my years of teaching I have found a great sense of joy watching my students grow into the cellists they are today.

As a performer my work spans from recording studios to music festivals and everything in between.

Frequently asked questions

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I always recommend a free trial lesson! In that lesson we can get to know each other better and for the student to get a sense of my teaching style. This is a non-commital trial lesson where I can answer any questions you may have in person.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I hold a bachelor’s and master’s degree in cello performance from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at CSULB I have 5 years of private cello teaching experience and currently work as the elementary school string assistant for the Manhattan Beach School District.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Currently rates are based lesson lengths of: - 1 hour - 45 minutes - 30 minutes (recommended for younger students)

How did you get started teaching?

Private teaching has always been a part of my professional cello career and I enjoy getting to share what I have learned with my students.

What types of students have you worked with?

All age groups. Adult beginners. Young Children. I enjoy working with all cellists no matter where they are in their journey through life.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

My cello studio’s spring recital! Where all of my students had the opportunity to perform the solos and duets they had been working very hard on for a large audience.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Get to know the teacher before you commit. As higher education music students we take trial lessons with all prospective professors before committing.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What kind of music do you want to play? What kind of music do I enjoy that could be applicable to cello? What playing opportunities/ensembles are available in my area?
