Coastal Crossover Basketball Club (CCBC) is a community-based youth sports organization that leverages the skills and teachings of basketball to promote and magnify the importance of health, wellness, teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership and character. CCBC is a satellite program of Squires Basketball founded by Tony Squire in Richmond, VA in 1987. Former Squires player and coach Arthur Blakey, IV chartered CCBC in Long Beach in 2021.

CCBC provides individual basketball instruction for beginners to college-level scholarship level athletes. We also offer local recreational teams and competitive travel teams. In addition to Blakey who serves as the club director, there’s over 40 years of combined coaching experience.

Our dedicated gym is based at Grace United Methodist Community Center 2325 E 3rd Street Long Beach, CA 90804.

My son loves this basketball club. The coaches not only teach the kids solid basketball skills, but they instill in them the importance of being a great student in the classroom, too.

I love that this program takes the kids at whatever level they are and they work with them. It’s awesome to see them improve so much each game. My son has played and trained with CCBC for about 3 years and it has definitely helped his skills and allowed him to do well on his local high school basketball team.

They focus on team building, a family culture, and individual development and mix it all together into one program. Playing with Squires is like playing with family and they do everything needed in order to make u a better basketball player and a better person in general. I highly recommend playing for Coastal Crossover because you have coaches that actually care about every individual player and help mold you to be better on and off the court.

All of the coaches have positive attitudes and are very friendly. They always keep parents up to date with what’s going on with the teams. They are concerned about the whole child, not just the athlete. They build positive relationships with the athletes and provide opportunities for the atheistic to bond and build relationships with each other.
