I hold a Bachelor's degree in drumset performance and composition from Berklee College, as well as some advanced training with several internationally-renowned drummers and composers. Learn to hear! I have a great 3hr "intro to hearing" class. Using Pro Tools, you'll learn the difference in tones between equipment like SSL, API and Neve. Also the difference between plugins vs analog equipment. Once you can hear these differences, the ability to choose the appropriate gear will be more intuitive.
