About

I focus on the overall development of the athlete. During the first session, we will go over basic drills and begin to understand what is most important for the athlete to work on.

I will form a collaboration between myself and the player to determine the highest priority needs for the player. I want to EMPOWER the player to be honest and choose what they want to work on while also using my experience of what they should be working on.

I have been playing alongside collegiate and professional athletes my entire life. Even though I didn't play collegiate or professional, I know what it takes especially to make a high school team.

I'm a great coach for all skill levels, whether the fundamental stages or advancing to high school.

I love working with youth and watching them grow into better people. Seeing humans grow is a joy to me. On the basketball court, I love watching kids become more confident and have fun with the game.

Coach Furtado is the most enthusiastic and compassionate coach I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Aside from the technical elements of coaching, his first response is always to meet athletes where they’re at. He adjusts practice plans to suit each athlete’s individual needs and is incredibly a if those drills don’t match the athletes’ needs. Coach Furtado’s goal is always to empower and encourage his athletes and build their confidence. Any athlete would be lucky to be trained by Coach Furtado.

    Frequently asked questions

    1. the First day - basic needs assessment.

Questions for the players to discuss THEIR goals, not mine, with them and what they want to get out of the training.

Then create a plan that works for both the player and myself.

I've been coaching for the past five years, and my day job is coaching basketball.

I am great at working with kids of all ages, and skill levels.

I have an undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon.

Standard pricing: $50 per 1 hr. session

When I was going to college in Oregon, I started coaching a group of kids at the Boys & Girls Club I was working for.

Ages 4-14, from beginning skill level to advance.

I also trained my friend who was a college basketball player.

Find a coach who shares similar values as you, and will motivate you to achieve YOUR goals.

What are your goals for training? What is the purpose? How can I best help you? How do you like to be coached?
