Echo Park Music

Hi!

I'm a guitarist, composer, producer, and teacher based in Echo Park. I love learning and sharing music with students of all ages and skill levels. I hold a BFA degree from California Institute of the Arts in jazz guitar performance and have been teaching for about 8 years. I have teaching experience at CalArts, SIM workshop, giving workshops at various colleges and high schools, and teaching private lessons in my own studio. My teaching style varies with the age and skill level of each student, but in general I like to try to find what excites all of my students and customize their lesson plans based on that. I believe that keeping students engaged and excited is the key to learning and enjoying music. With all of that said, I do expect a minimum practice commitment of 30 minutes a day from students. What might make my teaching practice different than others is that I am an active musician and composer. I also have a strong understanding of how to teach jazz and advanced harmony.

I most enjoy seeing students get excited about music and growing with their continued study.
