Greg N. says, "I’m a former student of Bert’s and had such a good experience learning to draw from them. The lessons are well paced, and Bert makes sure to build my confidence while challenging me—a nice balance of easing me into the process while also encouraging me to go beyond what I thought i was capable of. Looking at the before and after of my hand drawing was really gratifying, I could really see the growth!" Read more

Kim G. says, "Alfredo is one of the most prodigious and skilled artists I have ever met. He makes his personal skills easy to understand and communicate and the way I have grown as an artist in the past 3 years with him is beyond anything I ever expected of myself, let alone something I ever expected an artist to be able to communicate to another person as a teachable skill. If you’re on the fence about hiring him, please do yourself a favor and do it!" Read more

Having been captivated by art from a young age, I find my primary inspiration in the human form. My artistic journey began while studying for my degree at Community College, and soon discovered my true passion is in Fine Art. I refined my drawing and painting skills through life drawing workshops across Los Angeles and recently earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art. Since 2019, I've showcased my work at Barclays Cafe in North Hills, California, and in January 2024, my paintings were featured in prestigious exhibitions across New York and California. I’m excited to help you explore the techniques of th

Francis H. says, "If you want or need to learn to swim, look no further. Swimming is this teachers philosophy! I had such an amazing lesson with Zoso. She is very understanding and was so sweet. My twin sister and I couldn't swim at ages 46 and we were actually fearful of water all together (so embarrassing!) And Zoso got us both swimming in only a month. Im definitely recommending her to everyone i know. Her knowledge of how to swim and the way she plans her lessons are impeccable. Thank you coach!" Read more

Dylan T. says, "Wade Goyens, a Storyboarding Wizard and beyond! What great words can't be said about Wade!? A combination of Talent, Skill, Affordability and Flexibility always describes the best attributes we seek in an instructor of any field. Wade's got them all. Within only a year, working with Wade Goyens not only improved my knowledge and abilities (Storyboarding, Character design, Storytelling, Perspective, etc.) in the animation industry but, simultaneously sculpted a personal project of mine from a dream to a reality. Outside of the classroom, he'll go above and beyond by sending inspirational content to keep me motivated through my struggles of day to day life. It's a class I look forward to every week to both learn AND unwind! The only downside I can mention: His generous 2-3 hour sessions are not long enough! After our lessons are complete, I can go on chit chatting with him for days because you see, Wade Goyens is NOT just your mentor. He's also your friend!" Read more

I've been an Artist my whole life. Starting with the yearbook covers in middle school and High School. I learned Pictoral Advertising (painting in oils) at the Foster and Klieser Billboard Company. My Lawn Cheers have sold Nationwide for years through mail order Catalogs and now Etsy.com. I am also an Author. I have created prize winning costumes out of household items. I have been on tons of TV shows showing how to create fun ideas. Let's have fun creating. My Instagram is @Cle...

I know how to draw now! I took drawing lessons with bert a couple of months ago and could tell that they had had a lot of experience teaching drawing to people who didn’t feel confident with their skills. They had a really kind and encouraging teaching style, and exercises that were very thoughtfully paced to guide me step-by-step to developing my skills. I could see the plan from the beginning and felt confident that I’d make improvements—and I did!

I could leave a novel length review regarding how good my experience was with my first round of sessions were with Alfredo. I had absolutely no experience painting with oils prior to my classes. As our sessions went on, Alfredo created snd altered my class structure to accommodate what I needed. He didn't just teach me how to put oils on a canvas, but explained the importance of everything from the care and cleaning of your brushes, materials he recommended all the way to explaining color theory, sketching and more. He has played an integral role in me using art and painting to finding peace and putting smiles on my face. I cant wait to see my progress in our next round of sessions. Not only is Alfredo a great instructor, but hes my mentor and my friend. Hes helped a U.S. Marine Combat Veteran find a way to push an illness aside and use art to be happy. I hope I'm able to attach my paintings below. One is my very first completed painting and one about to be completed, and could not look anything like they do with Alfredo's guidance. They are pieces painted prior from other artists.

He is able to break almost every complex art related task down into reachable step-by-step exercises. It may seem formulaic at first, but that approach worked to quickly facilitate for me a solid understanding of perspective, figure drawing, portrait painting, and even sculpture. His critiques can seem brutally honest, but that’s an asset which also helped stimulate some rapid artistic growth for me.

I did not actually have a session with Marina but she was gracious enough to talk to me on the phone about various options I might have for creating the illustrations for a book I am working on. Anyone wanting a very qualified and talented instructor should contact her. I am only now beginning the conceptualization of my book and it will be awhile before I can visualize the kinds of illustrations I need. Thank you to Lessons.com for connecting me to Marina.

My two boys did lessons with Coach Zo, and she worked the kids hard all week! They kept asking us "when is our next lesson!?" They had more than a blady. Zoso is punctual and it shows that knows what she is doing. Thanks coach Zo!

Wade made the learning experience personalized to my goals and interests. In addition to posting detailed instructional materials and resources, he often would send relevant links that inspired me creatively. He is knowledgeable, engaging, responsive, and flexible. I enjoyed our classes tremendously!
