Mr. Guo accepts both in-person and online lessons! He is very flexible with both types of lessons— very structured and organized.

In the beginning of COVID (March 2020), my 14 years old son started with online lessons, but switched to in-person lessons around August! We felt comfortable by then with safety procedures.

Mr. Guo is very understanding of COVID situation and cautions with all students (social distance, n95 mask, sanitization, etc.)

My son gets a lesson with Mr. Guo, once a week, 60 minutes private lesson at our house. We have a room that faces the backyard that we can leave all windows and doors wide open for safe environment. Very safe and covid friendly lessons.

I am so thankful to Mr. Guo for providing the best music lessons for my son. He has a great time every lesson and looks forward every week. Music really makes everything better and definitely heals my heart listening to them play the cello.

I am a beginner cello student and started online lessons with Cello in February 2020. Prior to starting, Cello helped me find the perfect and affordable instrument and bow in local Los Angeles area. He walked me through step by step what to purchase, how to take care, and everything else. Then, he recommended to purchase beginner music and technique books. Everything was very organized and structured. He was so kind and went above and beyond.

If you are a beginner and scared to start online lesson, don’t worry. Cello will walk step by step with you. He is patient, very experienced, and a great teacher.

Mr. Guo is my daughter’s cello teacher for about three years now and she loves it. She improved greatly and now in honors string ensemble at her school.

How did you get started teaching?

I had my very first personal student in Singapore when I was studying for my Bachelor of Music at the National University of Singapore. After moving to the US, I've been teaching both in private and at festivals. I was appointed as Artist and Teacher of the Philharmonic Society of Myanmar and Hawaii Chamber Music Festival. I am also a member of the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra Education Outreach team focusing on Youth music education programs in Hawaii State.

What types of students have you worked with?

I've worked with students from beginners to semi-professionals who are seeking professional orchestra auditions.
