I have been working with Mr. Coelho for a long time now, working on solo pieces, excerpts, etudes, and clarinet exercises. He is an excellent teacher and a great person! He always has very helpful advice on clarinet playing, and he continuously inspires me to be a better musician. I truly think I have grown as a clarinetist under his guidance, in all aspects of technicality, tone, musicianship, and more. Also, he is a genuinely funny person who makes my time with him very fun and enriching. I recommend him very highly!

    Frequently asked questions

It's crucial to familiarize oneself with the students and their goals, understanding their strengths and weaknesses, and observing how they respond to new challenges and information. This insight enables the delivery of new knowledge in the most effective manner. I strive to make my lessons as productive and impactful as possible while delivering information in a joyful and effective way.
I have had the privilege of studying and collaborating with world-renowned teachers and musicians, which has been invaluable in shaping my approach to teaching. Drawing from this wealth of experience, I have developed teaching techniques that have proven to be highly effective. My goal is to impart a wide range of skills to my students in a manner that is both easy to understand and supportive. I am dedicated to fostering creativity, enhancing musicianship, and refining performance techniques in my students, ultimately empowering them to reach their full potential.
I offer flexible teaching options, accommodating lessons at my studio, the student's location, or online. The fee remains consistent for both online sessions and lessons at my studio. However, for in-person lessons at the student's residence, an additional travel fee may apply.
I was fortunate to have outstanding music teachers who deeply influenced my life, as well as the lives of my friends and communities. Witnessing the profound impact of music education, I knew from an early age that I wanted to follow in their footsteps. Both as a student and a teacher, I've experienced firsthand the transformative power of music. It's not just about individual growth but also about enriching the communities we serve. This realization fueled my passion for teaching, and I've been committed to empowering students through music ever since.
I have extensive experience working with students of all ages and from diverse social backgrounds. Currently, my youngest student is 7 years old, while the oldest is 75.
When looking to hire a teacher in the realm of music education, it's crucial to prioritize both experience and expertise. Seek out instructors who boast a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record of success in their field. Equally significant is finding someone with whom you share a connection and feel comfortable entrusting your musical journey. Building a rapport with your teacher fosters a conducive learning environment and enhances the overall experience. Ultimately, prioritize finding a teacher who not only possesses the necessary skills but also resonates with you on a personal level, fostering a supportive and enriching learning journey.
Each case is unique, but here are some questions that might be helpful to think through: 1) What are my specific goals and objectives in learning this subject or skill? What areas do I struggle with the most, and where do I need the most support? 2) What learning style works best for me? Am I more visual, auditory, or kinesthetic? 3) Do I have any previous experience or knowledge in this subject, and how can that inform my learning process? 4) How much time can I dedicate to practicing and studying outside of lessons? 5) What resources do I have available to support my learning journey? 6) Are there any specific challenges or obstacles I anticipate facing, and how can my teacher help me overcome them? 7) What are my expectations for communication and feedback from my teacher? 8) How do I prefer to receive instruction and feedback? Do I thrive with direct feedback, or do I prefer a gentler approach? 9) How do I envision my progress and success in this subject or skill in the short term and long term? Thinking through these questions can help students articulate their needs and goals more effectively when communicating with their teachers, ultimately leading to a more productive and fulfilling learning experience.
