I am a high school student with no previous art experience, I just loved art and always wished I could be good at it! I have been taking weekly art lessons with Karim for 4-5 months now and its hard to describe how much I have learned. Since our first lesson, Karim has been so open to any project that I want to do, whether portrait drawing, watercolor, and even performance art. Sure, I could have looked online to try to figure it out myself but nothing beats having someone, especially Karim, sitting next to you to give you ideas and support you. Karim obviously puts so much effort into each lesson, he comes ready with a lesson plan and interesting things to talk about. I have become more confident with my own art and ideas and I couldnt have done it without Karim. I highly recommend him for anyone wants to try art; he is an intelligent, talented, and above all, good hearted guy.

    Frequently asked questions

When we first meet please tell me about yourself and show me your art work! We'll figure out the direction of lessons together! I have a basic drawing lesson framework that I use but it adjusts to each student.

I have been teaching art since 2006. I spent many years teaching at art centers for adult artists with developmental disabiliites. Currently I work with college students at Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles and teach online from home as well.

Online lessons are $150 for a package of four

In-person lessons are $220 for a package of four

I started teaching while still in college. My painting professor hired me as an assistant before I graduated.

I work with all types young, old, and also neuro-diverse.

I recently submitted several of my students to a California Art Teacher Association awards show and all of my students were finalists in the competition.

The relationship is the most important thing. It's all about finding someone you can feel comfortable with and trust.

It's not necessary to have a specific goal in mind, but if you do.. let the teacher know! That way we can structure the lesson plan towards your interests. You'll be more motivated that way.
