Amna Syeda Makeup Artist And Instructor
About
I love makeup myself and like to use it everyday. I give at least a full hour to every client. If needed, even more since I work in details. My clients always leave happy with the results
There's so many different looks we can achieve with just makeup itself. I like trying different looks on myself and others. I love experimenting with makeup. It works like a destresser for me.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I offer all my clients a free consultation before we start lessons. In this consultation I want to understand what my client wants to achieve. I also recommend supplies needed for the classes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified makeup artist. I have 10 yrs of experience in this field. I also research on the makeup products I use.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
One on one each lesson is $75/ person. Each lesson is 90 mins long.
Group lessons of two or more are $60 per person/ lesson.
How did you get started teaching?
I have been tutoring different subjects since I was a kid. I'm good at explaining and many people have succeeded because of my approach. After I became a certified makeup artist, people approached me to teach them. They really appreciated these lessons, so I chose to continue teaching anyone interested.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with ladies of all ages, from teenagers to older women.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I gave 3 lessons to a girl who was about to get married. She thanks me every time she meets me and appreciates what she learned from me. She even tells me she gets a lot of compliments when she does her makeup now.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Not everyone has the art of explaining what they are teaching. It doesn't matter how good of a makeup artist they are. If they can't explain, the students can't learn. Make sure you know the difference between knowledge and teaching.
Also, hygeine is very important. Look for how clean the facility and your instructor is.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Be very clear about what you want to learn and achieve. Making sure the students understand that practice will make them better. They won't be able to perfectly apply makeup after their lessons alone. Students need to give at least and hr. everyday to practice what they learned until they reach perfection. I'll be teaching them the necessary skills, it's their job to practice.
