About

I'm an incoming freshman at Stanford University and am spending this summer tutoring as much as possible in order to raise money for tuition. I have a years' worth of experience and am comfortable tutoring lower-school to high-school math. I am also able to help students prepare for the ACT and SAT- in any subject (math, english, reading, science). When it comes to taking standardized tests, the tricks-of-trade are almost as important as the knowledge of the subject. Having recently gone through the application process myself, I am able to relate and connect with students more easily. The problems they have are often ones I had to overcome. I am far cheaper than most tutors and bring with me an enthusiasm for the subjects I teach.

More about me:

I will be a Mechanical Engineering student at Stanford come the fall; I plan to later focus on Aeronautical Engineering.

I graduated school at 17, having taken my junior year and senior year simultaneously (i.e. I took my A-levels, a two-year course, in one year).

I have spent the last year living solo in France and Australia. I held an internship at a space-exploration/industrial engineering firm in Marseille, France and an internship at an investment management firm in Sydney, Australia. Although I am American, I was raised in Cyprus (the island near Greece). I speak Greek and French.

As well as being a huge physics and math buff, I am also an avid musician. I am classically trained on piano and also love to perform and sing soul/jazz. I am tutoring piano this summer as well.

Frequently asked questions

The student will either tell me what topics they are having trouble with or I will give them a diagnostics test to find out.

We will then first set our focus to understanding the concepts behind the topics they struggle with, then we will learn how to solve standard question types they will deal with on the test. Once they have mastered the most re-occurring question-types we will attack the more unique, challenging questions. My method will depend on the student's ability and concentration.

For standardized-test turoing, I will also teach them my tricks for better time-management.
