What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I love meeting the student where they are at. My job as a teacher is to help guide you towards your goals. Oboe can be lots of fun when given the right tools to succeed. I am here to help shape and build you a solid foundation for the future!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Master's Degree in Oboe Performance from University of Southern California Thornton School of Music and a Bachelor's of Music degree in Music Education with an Instrumental Emphasis from the University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My lessons begin at $35 for a 30 minute lesson, $50 for 45 mins, and $65 for an hour lesson.
If travelling to the student, I charge a $5 flat fee for travel costs.
How did you get started teaching?
I have always tried to find ways to help students of all levels. Since I was in middle school, I helped individuals with their music and have never stopped! It is the best feeling to watch a student meet and exceed their goals.
What types of students have you worked with?
Beginners to advanced, any age, I have helped students learn more about music and cultivate a love for the art!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Finding the right teacher for oboe is all about how you can relate and learn from their instruction. Your teacher should be flexible and interested in not just the musical aspects of your life but all facets that make you unique.
