About
I have developed a method of teaching which rapidly increases the student's artistic abilities. The classes are instructional and enjoyable and help the student gain confidence and self-esteem through pride in his or her accomplishments. Classes are offered in various media and are limited in size to assure quality attention to each student. Individualized instruction is directly keyed to each student's abilities and progress, with the students working at their own speed.
I was born in California and grew up in Oregon and Georgia. I received my Masters of Fine Arts from the School of Visual arts in New York and my BFA from the Atlanta College of Art. My drawings and sculpture have been exhibited in Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, Tokyo, London, and Miami. Select residencies and awards include the Franklin Furnace Award, the Brooklyn Arts council, and the San Francisco Center for Cultural Innovation, The Atlantic Center for the Arts, Arteles Creative Center in Haukijärvi Finland, and the Brand Associate Patron Award. Museum shows include the Wexner Center, Ohio, the Harn Museum, Florida, and the Institute for Contemporary Arts in Boston and Atlanta.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I always begin with new students by asking about their interests, what sort of work inspires them, and what they hope to accomplish. We then work together on various exercisies and assignments that will enhance skill, confidence, and general understanding of the medium.
