Winslow Garage
About
I'm an artist with university teaching experience and a wide range of skills gained from completing public art projects and working in the film industry. I have an exceptional work space with a myriad of tools for the realization of projects and I will always do my best to find a way for you to reach your artistic goals.

Additionally, I am the director of an artist project space that exhibits work by experienced professional artists: https://www.winslowgarage.com
I really enjoy the problem solving process and like to experiment with new materials and techniques. I believe that drawing is the foundation for all artworks, but I have a special love for large messy materials and fire.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Lessons are generally for 1 to 3 hour blocks and cost roughly $45/hr per person. The student needs to provide their own materials. Depending on the instruction, the student may need to pay an extra equipment fee for the use of expendables like gas. Some instruction may benefit from longer studio sessions and costs can be determined at that time. Private lessons may cost more, groups may cost a bit less.
How did you get started teaching?
I was a graduate teaching associate at Ohio State and I was required to take a course in curriculum development and practical teaching for adults.
What types of students have you worked with?
Both adults and children, but mine are older now, so I would like to work with adults or high school students.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should be clear on whether they have a specific idea or project in mind or if they are open to learning about the larger concerns of contemporary art making.
