Txan Film Productions & Visual Arts, Inc. (www.txanfilm.com), a Cape Verdean-American four-members production company based in Los Angeles, California that produces audiovisual materials, including but not limited to: documentaries, docudramas, fiction films, and educational materials. Its aim is to produce informative multi-media resources and entertainment that cover societies and cultures within the African Diaspora – primarily of the Atlantic region (islands of the Caribbean, Cape Verde, São Tomé and Príncipe) and the Americas, that is not normally covered by mainstream media and/or within scholarly discourse.

To date, I have accumulated a total of 20 years work experience in visual arts teaching/photography and filmmaking, and I have Master’s Degree in Audiovisual and Communications. I am a highly creative instructor and my excellent eye can be demonstrated with my work. The freedom to create is what forms the basis of my instruction in the vast and beautiful field of art.

I thought his class on photography and it was fantastic. It was definitely my favorite class this semester. He is a great Teacher!! Mr. Pires is a patient, intervening and vastly knowledge person. I cant thank him enough for all the help that he give me, with hes help I was able to accomplish two fashion photography catalogues.

Digital Filmmaking Program called, “Digital Cinema,“ is a hands-on course designed to prepare students for a career in the film industry. A brainchild project of UNESCO, the study courses have been developed and standardized by Txan Film Productions & Visual Arts, Inc.

Txan Film is determined to educate people who have a passion for learning about the art of filmmaking, photography, video editing and cinematography.

Under the leadership of our Filmmaker and Visual Arts Instructor Mr. Guenny K. Pires the accelerated Digital Filmmaking course has been taught around the world.
