About
My name is Aubree Oliverson and I absolutely love teaching and playing the violin! Because I have trained for so many years to be a classial violin soloist (one of the most competitive musical fields in the world), I have been taught by the very best teachers and I am excited to pass the best stuff along to you! :) I have been teaching for years now and I love helping with technique, practice strategies, and guiding students in developing their own inner musicality. I teach all kinds of exercises to help build control and flexibility. We will build on techniques and pieces in a way that each new one adds to the last one, and each new piece presents a new challenge, but also solidifies what we have already worked on. And we might even have some fun doing it, too. I generally teach out of the Suzuki books for beginners, but with some other supplemental materials to go along with the pieces in the books.
I also work as a violin tutor (someone to help you/your child practice in between lessons with your regular teacher). Many parents find, especially if there are no other classical violinists in the home, that it can be helpful to have someone practice a few days a week with their child. It is not required, however, and I am always available for phone calls or texts between lessons to help you/your child get the most out of your practice days! I will be there for you as a teacher!

Frequently asked questions
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been teaching since I was 14 years old, and I absolutely love it. I have been trained by the very best and I will make sure you are taught good technique. My past teachers have included Deborah Moench (one of the former most famous teachers for young students in the nation), Eugene Watanabe (a graduate of the Curtis Institute), and currently Robert Lipsett. Since I travel quite a bit as a performer, some people like having a regular full-time teacher and then using me to help their children practice for a number of hours each week, (tutor lessons) and regular check-ups over videochat when I am away. For others (usually students who have already been playing for a couple of years and don't as need as much in-person technique correction), it works for me to do regular online lessons as their main teacher.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$30/30min, $45/45min, $60/hr, $90/90min.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with absolutely all levels, from professional violinists to those who have never held a violin before. And I love all of it.
