About this pro

During the Pandemic I am providing online classes to families who want to do art and bond as a family. I connect families around the globe at a certain time and conduct classes on zoom. My art classes range from Asian art, African art, learning Egyptian art and traditional floral and landscape painting.

I enjoy teaching and seeing improvement in my students. I enjoy seeing their joy and confidence when they finish an artwork. I enjoy teaching people who have always been afraid of art and painting because of negative comments from others. I enjoy seeing them falling in love with painting and drawing.

My 2 daughters 5 and 8 year olds learn from Ms Ghose. They are challenged to do much more every class. They learn one step at a time and I see how quickly they have progressed. They have painted beautiful Chinese landscapes, intricate spring flowers and they look forward to their art classes every week with Joyita.

She is so patient and has such an in-depth knowledge of art and knows how to teach a person who could not even draw a line. I am 75 years old and look forward to my Saturday afternoon class online, during Pandemic in North Carolina.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I teach online due to pandemic. I show them the paper and proportions that we will be using. Colors we will be using and a little history of why I am teaching that particular kind of art.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

27 years and more painting on various mediums. I am a self taught artist, with a background in Fashion Apparel design and Graphic Arts. I am an entrepreneur with a silk painting wearable art business which I have had for the past 14 years. My paintings are displayed at galleries around the country and I regularly sell my scarves to De young museum gift store and the Asian art museum gift stores

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I charge $20 for a 1 hour class and $30 for a 1.5 hr class.

How did you get started teaching?

My retail clothing customers wanted to learn my craft and I started teaching from there. I also taught silk painting at West Valley College as a summer program.

What types of students have you worked with?

From age 8 to 81 years old.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I recently did a Paint online party for a 20 year old college student during the Pandemic with her entire sports team through Zoom. All her friends were across the US and also Australia and New Zealand. I got them all together at the same time to do this fun art class.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

I was never taught, which is why I teach well, because I learned how to learn on my own. I do not have any preconceived methods, so I keep learning from masters to keep improving and teaching better.
