About
In a typical session with me, clients can expect a highly personalized, technique-focused workout designed to build a strong foundation in form, mechanics, and overall body awareness. My coaching style is rooted in a deep understanding of kinesiology, which allows me to not only teach the "how" of each movement but also the "why" behind it. This helps athletes make lasting improvements that are both efficient and safe.
I begin each session with a brief assessment or warm-up that allows me to observe how the athlete moves—whether it's during basic volleyball-specific movements like footwork patterns, arm swings, or jump mechanics. From there, I identify areas where form tends to break down or where there may be a weak link in the kinetic chain, such as improper shoulder alignment, inefficient hip rotation, or poor core engagement.
Once we've identified the key areas of focus, the majority of the session is structured around drills specifically designed to correct those issues. For example, we might isolate arm swing mechanics using resistance bands, incorporate balance and coordination exercises to improve stability, or work on tempo-based drills to refine timing and rhythm. I also incorporate feedback loops—such as video playback or real-time cueing—so athletes can see and feel the difference in their movement.
My goal is always to help athletes develop muscle memory for proper form, so good mechanics become automatic and sustainable, even under game pressure. Beyond just improving volleyball performance, I emphasize the development of body awareness that can benefit clients in other areas of their physical lives—whether it's reducing injury risk, improving posture, or feeling more confident and in control of their movement overall.
Each session is tailored to the individual’s goals, current skill level, and progress, making it both structured and adaptable. Clients can expect a session that’s hands-on, educational, and empowering—designed to make them not only a better athlete, but a smarter one too.
