About
Hi! I'm Kristin. I'm passionate about helping my clients function at their best, move with more freedom, and live with less stress. I'd love to help you do the same! One-on-One or private group yoga lessons allow you to get the personalized attention you need and deserve so you can progress towards your goals safely and effectively. Every lesson is 100% tailored to your needs....something that my clients love!
As an E-RYT200/RYT500 teacher, I help clients of all ages and abilities improve their quality of life through yoga. I'm a firm believer that your yoga practice should fit YOU and adapt each lesson to achieve that in both the short-term and long-term. I teach in a way that's straightforward and easy to follow. My approach combines elements from a variety of yoga and meditation disciplines so you can enjoy a well-rounded experience every time.
Please visit my website www.KLGYOGA.com if you'd like more info or want to send me an email so we can chat more about what one-on-one yoga looks like for you. Let me know how I can help! :)
I love what I do! My favorite is the people (that's you)! I have so much appreciation for every relationship I've built through teaching and I absolutely love watching my clients make progress. Even if it seems like a tiny thing - that's a proud teacher moment for me! The absolute best is when my clients tell me they applied something from their yoga lesson to their daily life. That's why I do what I do! I don't want you to just feel good one hour a week. I want you to feel your best and live your best life every single day! The question is, are you ready?!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Things may vary a bit based on your needs and requests, but usually the process is as follows:
1) Email me directly at [email protected] or contact me through Lessons.com and let me know you're interested!
2) I'll get in touch with your shortly thereafter to set up a complimentary phone call.
3) We'll chat for about 15-20 minutes so I can learn more about your goals and offer up ways to approach your lesson(s). This is also where I answer any questions you may have about me or about yoga. Once you're comfortable with everything, we'll set a date and time for your first lesson!
4) I come to you! Roll out your mat and enjoy! I'll be there to guide you every step of the way.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I did my initial trainings at Yoga Shakti in Irvine, completing my 200hr Teacher Training in 2015 and my 500hr Teacher Training in 2016. I have since spent many additional hours researching, studying, and also training with master teachers like Annie Carpenter, Judith Hanson Lasater, Max Strom, and Karma Kid's Shari Vilchez-Blatt. I'm always learning and expanding my knowledge base around yoga, fitness, and health to better serve you as a teacher. If you're not growing, you're shrinking!
I also hold a Bachelor's Degree in Design from Iowa State University and professional certifications in Technical Design and Product Development from FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) in New York.
Registered with the Yoga Alliance at the E-RYT200/RYT500 Level.

How did you get started teaching?
Life always has a roundabout way of pointing you in the right direction! A few years back, I had a really sobering moment about how I wanted to live my life and how I wanted to spend my time. It was then that I realized my passion was less about designing beautiful things in the fashion industry and much more about optimizing how we live our lives and how we impact the world around. Yoga helped me do that for myself. Now, I help others do the same!
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with, and made yoga work for, people of all ages and abilities. This includes children as young as 3 or 4, adults well into their 80's, and everyone in-between.
Almost all of my clients come to me at first with some kind of ailment or condition to either work on or work around. Through yoga I help them create relief and build the strength and flexibility needed to move with less discomfort or pain in the long-term.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Who you work with ultimately determines your experience, so choose carefully! Make sure you pick someone who's qualified, has your best interests at heart, and knows how to address both your immediate needs and long-term goals. You should always feel like you can keep growing!
As yourself a couple questions.....
1) Are they the kind of person I would get a cup of coffee with?
2) Does this person make me feel at ease?
3) Can I trust them?
4) Do they respect my time?
5) Would I recommend them to my friends?
If you can answer each question with a solid "yes", it's likely good match!
And, if you don't succeed at first? Don't give up! Try, try again until you find an instructor you love!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
1) What are your goals and what are your needs? Two very different things!
2) Where are you starting from?
3) How can you make room for yoga in your schedule? Think about all the things that might get in your way and how you can work around them.
4) How much time are you willing to devote to your health each week?
5) What days and times work best?
6) Is anyone else going to join you for yoga?
7) Do you want the instructor to come to you or do you want to meet in a central location?
8) Do you have any particular requests that require special expertise?
9) What's your budget or pricing expectation?
