I have been a professional artist for many years. I am a painter and printmaker and have taught students painting and printmaking at all levels from college, high school, middle and elementary schools, also adult and senior age students.

It is especially rewarding to me to see the unfolding wonder that accompanies the student's acquisition of skills as our process develops. In my own work I explore the "alchemy" of working with the various media of painting and printmakng. It is always magical and surprising as discoveries are made, methods become familiar and a facility with the medium is established. it is o joy to see students reach this level of practice based on a continual fascination both with the techniques and with their own vision. I help students to integrate their visual ideas with their means of expression. I offer lessons that refine both vision and technique in a simple and straightforward set of steps.
I have been a professional artist for 40 years and I consider teaching an essential part of my work. I have taught painting and printmakng at college level, also at high schools and middle schools. Recent projects include several large scale outdoor murals created (in acrylic) with high school students. My work includes all water based painting media - watercolor, acrylic, traditional egg tempera, but also oil. Printmaking is also a specialization. i exhibit widely in the Britain, the U.S. and Europe. My prints are included in many important public collections such as the British Museum, Ashmolean Museum, the National Museums of Scotland and Wales. I have received support through grants and residencies from the British Council, the Djerassi Foundation, the Marin Arts Council and most recently the Styrcea Artist's residency in Romania. My most recent exhibition was at the Palace of Culture museum in the city of Iasi in June 2019.
