My teaching method begins with sketching basic shapes and progressing to complex shapes through refinement and detail. This process can be applied to cartoon caricature or realistic objects such as still life arrangements, animals, people, portraits, landscapes, cars, houses, or anything else that you like.
For advanced practice I teach the Principles of Creating Depth using perspective, overlapping, shading, texture, and focal point detail. I teach expressive concept development by gathering image references and creating imaginative juxtapositions and visual stories. In addition to drawing, I teach painting using techniques that I learned while acquiring my MFA degree in Fine Art Painting at The Academy of Art University. I have experience teaching in schools as well as private lessons for children of all ages.
I love how the practice of painting awakens the mind and soul to percieve the beauty of the world. Seeking to find exciting subject matter has led me on many great adventures. I love teaching and helping others to acquire the insight and skills to manifest their artisitic dreams.

I like to see where they are at in their personal creative process. From there I can get a perspective on what level and what direction to consider in going forward. I like to teach by demonstrating the process of shaping form with light and shadow, and moving from basic shapes to refinement with details. I use books and a variety of sources to reference the work of other artists.
I Graduated with a Master's Degree in Fine Art at The ACademy of Art University in San Francisco, Ca. in 2008. Since then I have continued to paint with a tremendous enthusiasm. My teaching process is fueled by what I learned in school as well the development of my own practice of creating art.
I teach painting and drawing workshops as well as school group classes. Contact me for information about pricing.
