Make your markers work magic! Accelerate your success by drawing and painting onto glitter treated surfaces! Offer more fascination for your viewer and create a stronger bond.
I offer projects of unusual media combinations - to help you develop faster, make more work more quickly, and keep everyone guessing how you did it. The same media choices can be layered differently to get a spectrum of styles. Markers can layer to look like an Old Master painting - except more interesting. Pastel can flow like a liquid over glitter, when worked with a brush; and finish like a photograph. Basic lessons can be learned quickly, paintings can be made more sophisticated; the process is low fume, low mess, portable and easy to clean up with water.
Materials can be purchased from me or according to an Amazon list. Some surfaces might only be available from me. Some projects might be customized and not featured online.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The series of classes that I offer through the Backfence Society of Vista, California; can be taken by any level of talent. The overarching theme of the series is working into a midlevel ground color, adding lights and darks to create form. Materials have been selected for their forgiving natures. A workbook accompanies the instruction.
Students can show up to class with no experience, have all materials provided by me, and expect to complete a project by the end of class.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My Master of Fine Arts in painting was earned at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, where classical training tows a line for representation in contemporary art. My Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting from the Center for Creative Studies was based on the same core beliefs about how art is taught, specifically the mastery of drawing as a foundation.

Classes offered through the Backfence Society in Vista are priced at $15 per class and $15 materials fee per project. The classes are three hours. The rate for private assistance/instruction is $50 for 2 hours, plus materials for most projects.
