I have been teaching art and drawing for over 12 years in various high schools, colleges, and universities. I have experience working with a diverse population of student and learning styles. I love the challenges and rewards of teaching art.
I am a professional artist with an MFA in drawing and painting.
I am passionate about art and love exploring the different possibilities on the black page or canvas.
I specialize in oils but am comfortable working in many mediums including acrylic and watercolor.
I am also proficient in teaching perspective and construction drawing skills

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I spend time discovering what type of artwork and styles that my student in drawn to and what particular skills he or she wants to work on.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an MFA in Fine Art and teach perspective drawing, figurative drawing, painting, color theory, and design. I am also experienced in Plein Air painting and watercolor.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I ask 30 dollars an hour or less for a group lesson.
How did you get started teaching?
It was an accident...really. I avoided teaching jobs for years. Once I started I became passionate about it.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with both experienced and inexperienced students. no matter where they are coming from. I try to draw to students out of their comfort zone into new and exciting possibilities for their art
