Arroyo Archery Coaching
About
From beginner to advanced level level archery, there's always something to improve with the craft of archery. Join me for a 90 minute coaching lesson to fine tune your archery skills, or learn a brand new skill.
I've done archery for about 10 years now, fortunate to have learned from some fantastic coaches as well as having been in a teaching session with an olympian.
I'm a former JOAD member (Junior Olympic Archery Development) and now a level 3 USA Archery coach. I specialize mostly with recurve, and familiar with traditional style of shooting.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
If you are brand new to archery, no need to worry, during the lesson we will go over the safety, basics, and overall just having fun with a new sport.
No need for equipment either, you'll be provided with the necessary needs to get going through your first time trying out archery.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As stated in the about me, I've been doing archery for a long time, have worked alongside several coaches as well as getting coached by others as well.
I became a level 1 USA instructor about 5-6 years ago, had to take a break from archery to focus with college and then of course the pandemic happened. But I'm back in full swing, and looking forward to teaching all of you.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

How did you get started teaching?
After getting to become a JOAD and being fluent in archery, understanding what im doing, and enjoying teaching others, I started to want to get my archery certification.
Being a voluntary instructor for so long, it was time to start helping on my own terms as the sport has started to grow in popularity over the years. Overtime gettng my level 1, level 2, and now level 3 USA archery certification.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with too many students to count, all the way from young kids to seniors. Archery is a blast and a fun sport, often compared to martial arts, as it teaches focus, shot confidence, and relaxation.
To give some examples, I've worked with scout groups, collegiate groups, beginner archers, some JOAD's, even teaching some camp councelors.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
As far as recent events are concerned none are as more impactful to this specific career as my level 3 certification. Not only does it go in depth with the short process, but also developing the archer to become better prepared with overall lesson plans, understanding coaching techniques, and practices.
Though a personal recent event of my own that I certainly enjoy was the international tournament Vegas Shoot. That was a lot of fun as well as building tournement experience.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
My own advice as far as archery is concerned (and probably other sports to). Is that you'll come to meet different coaches with wide ranges of coaching philosophies, so having that in mind if you really resonate well with the coach you're working with then I think thats a good thing.
If you are a beginner in archery its good to keep an open mind about a new sport you might not have tried, or maybe tried once. Things are gonna be difficult at first, but as the saying goes "practice makes perfect."
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
From the perspective of the student, its important to know that the teacher you're learning from (whether its a sport or school) is providing a safe and positive learning environment. For students its always good to ask questions, with archery I'm more than happy to clarify or build upon different questions you might have.
