Coach Don

About

Students who take lessons with me seem to progress quickly. I do not spend any time on unnecessary drills, but use the practice time to teach basketball fundamentals that will help the student progress immediately. As a result, the student finds a even greater joy in playing basketball.

What I enjoy most about my work is showing students that they are already better then they think. They just need someone, like myself, to ring out those hidden qualities and gifts they naturally have. Along with teaching them new ones.

Coach Don was great with my son and nephew. The private lessons kept away distractions and allowed them more time to learn techniques that a large group setting rarely provides. He taught them how to work together as a team. They love basketball and his coaching really helped them learn to focus and increase their skills.

Coach Don is methodical and at the same time encouraging and adaptive. He made a good assessment of my son’s skills and worked patiently with him. With an hour of lesson every week, my son’s dribbling and shooting skills greatly improved. Unlike other kids who start playing when they are only 5 years old, my son started playing when he was 11 years old. Because of his training with Coach Don, my son can now play with other kids his age with great confidence. Thanks Coach!

    Frequently asked questions

First I will have the Student perform a few light easy drills. And immediately I will be able to see some of the student's strengths and weaknesses. After observing for a short period of time we will then start working on their weaknesses.

Experience, I have over 26 years of it. Results, Many current and former High School and College players.

My pricing is $65.00 per one hour session. However, if a student takes two or more lessons per week, the price drops down to only $50 per lesson.

Recreationally at first. Then after having success with those students, I decided to do this full time.

Most of my customers are primarily males. My youngest current student is only 8 years old. My oldest is 54.  However the majority of my students are from Middle and High Schools.  Along with several College Students.

My favorite project are students who started with little basketball ability and ended up playing at a much higher level than they ever expected.  Many of my students ended up playing College Basketball and they never expected that.

Very Important, Do not ONLY look at their credentials, look at their results. How do their current and past students play.  Are their students good players or are they simply average? This is a great indicator of how productive of a teacher he or she will be.

What is their obejective? Do they want to hire a basketall instructor just to get better personally? Or do they want the instructor to help them make the team or go to the next leve?
