About

Hello students!

Bass is my life, my passion, and my art. Everyone could use more bass in their life, so I am here to offer lessons to players both beginner and advanced! My approach to lessons will make playing less daunting and more fun. We can work through your favorite songs, classical pieces if that suits your fancy, or bass standards that all good bass players should know! Most importantly I want my students to feel comfortable so my teaching will always incorporate a "no-judgement" zone where nervousness can be tamed and your true inner bassist can shine!

Part of our lessons will be ear training (what pitch, interval, or chord are you hearing?), another part will be technique (what finger, fret, or string should you use?), and another part will be improvisation (if he/she plays that, what should I play?). A whole different skillset I will teach is instrument maintenance and repair. Do you have a cheapo $150 off-brand bass guitar that feels hard to play? The worst part of practicing is when you feel inhibited by your own instrument. We will work together to raise the quality of your bass to professional level through adjustments to the bridge/saddles/action/truss rod/etc at no extra charge to you. This kind of work costs hundreds at Guitar Center, but the adjustments are simple and easy and will save your hands from the aches and pains of playing an inferior bass.

Interested? I would love to meet you!

To me, the look on a person's face when they connect musically with a song they have loved for years is priceless. You don't have to believe that your favorite band is all that different from you, and through our lessons I will show you how to feel like you're right there with them, playing bass on their new hit single!
