One Step Ahead
About
I've been helping students feel confident and comfortable with the material they are learning so that they could excel and achieve all their academic goals for over 10 years! (All subjects tutor for elementary- middle school )
I've chosen this career because I fell in love watching all the little ones learn while having fun. I also enjoy bonding with all the families and their little ones and seeing them achieve their goals as a team. I noticed that when students are doing well in school they are a lot more excited to attend class, making it a lot easier for parents to get through their own day and tasks.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I believe it is important to assess the student first and really find the root of the problem that is causing confusion, finding this obstacle allows us to overcome it in the future and completely get rid of it moving forward.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I got my bachelors degree in psychology in child development which allows me to understand how a child's brain works and at what age they are developing different skills. I got my teaching credentials knowing that I wanted to prioritize tutoring and one on one education because I see students thrive when they have individual attention and hands-on learning instead of feeling intimidated by larger groups. Due to my psychology background, I can quickly notice when a student is having other issues going on that are affecting their academic work. For example in the past I have been able to quickly pinpoint that the student is being distracted and influenced by their peers and it is not really a full-blown academic issue that is interfering with their grades.
