About
I enjoy introducing my students to world of "Safe gun handeling and self defense".
I specialize in teaching "Mature Adults" that are interested in learning how to safely use a handgun for self defense.
I am a Certified Instructor with the United States Concealed Carry Association, an NRA Handgun Instructor, and a F.B.I. Certified Law Enforcement Handgun Instructor.
As a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy, I specialized in assignments as an undercover Officer, This is why I am qualified to teach Concealed Carry Weapons training. I also trained Sheriff's Department Personnel in the how/when/and wear to carry a firearm "Off Duty".
I am a senior citizen with a great sense of humor and endless patience. I love to teach!
I will provide various firearms/ammunition/Gear for you to try and I limit my training to (1) person at a time or married couples. Each training session is limited to a maximum of (3) hours.
My main training range is the Burro Canyon Shooting Range located above Azuza. It is the best range for (1) on (1) firearms training within a (50) mile area.
You should know this........98 percent of Firearms Instructors fall in to (2) catagories.......some can teach, but are not good shots, while others are great shooters but cannot teach. I can do both!
I have been teaching Defense Shooting for almost (50) years and I also won a Gold Medal in the Master Class of Action Shooting (Pistol) in the Police Olympics!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first "Meet and Greet" is designed to determine the student's desire and goals for the training and to establish a friendly positive atmosphere.
I start the training session with a "safety Gun" that doesn't actually shoot any projectiles.
Since each person is unique, I establish the best stance, grip, sight picture, that works best for the student. Then we advance to "air soft" (BB Guns) so that student can get feedback from actually shooting a target.
