Jeremy Alvarez Music - Trumpet Lessons

Hello! My name is Jeremy Alvarez and I’m a professional trumpet player. I started playing trumpet at a young age and quickly knew that I wanted my life to revolve around music. Upon graduating high school, I was accepted into the Berklee College of Music and was granted the Jimmy Lyon’s scholarship, a full tuition scholarship given to one musician on the Western United States. At Berklee, I studied trumpet, jazz, production and finished with a bachelor’s degree in Music Performance. In 2017, I was awarded 2nd place in the jazz division

of the International Trumpet Guild competition. I’ve done professional music tours ranging from the US to Vietnam, Argentina and Mexico. I’ve recorded trumpet and arranged music for several up and coming artists including Sunni Colón and My Anh. I’ve performed with many incredible musicians and artists including Greg Phillinganes, Cori Jacobs, Vietnamese pop icon My Linh Do, Joyce Moreno, Tia Fuller and Pedro Capo. I am currently recording for artists and performing around the LA area.

As an educator, I believe in helping students be the best version of their own unique selves through music. My goals in life are to share my music and creativity with the world and inspire young musicians.

I want to make sure that I am giving every one of my students an experience that is unique to them. I am always thinking of different ways to help each of my students grow. I strive to foster a positive learning environment where students feel like they can be themselves and learn comfortably. I teach all age ranges and skill levels. I have been able to quickly help my students achieve their goals with trumpet because I’ve encountered and overcome many of the issues my students have had in my 15+ years of playing. I know that every student will have unique issues and different strengths as well as weaknesses. This is why I don’t use a cookie-cutter approach but rather figure out what my student needs to grow, pinpoint focus areas and then develop a comprehensive plan that will best suite their needs and ensure their success with trumpet. Even if the student does not choose to be a professional, it is my goal for them to leave my instruction with a positive outlook about music as well as a sense of passion for what they do and who they are.
