Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I believe in letting the student decide what they want to do for themselves - within reason of course - setting goals early on an accomplishing them, whether it be becoming a professional one day, qualifying for a specific orchestra or music program, learning a favorite song/musical piece of theirs, or simply learning how to play an instrument for fun. I also strongly encourage parent and guardian involvement as well, especially for younger students to help with keeping them accountable and help them accomplish whatever goals they have.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have attended Colburn Community School of the Performing Arts, I spent one year as principle cello of a community youth orchestra in Irvine, CA. I have spent three years assisting in orchestras and ensembles for beginner cello students, providing feedback, mentorship, advice, and one on one coaching sessions for cello techniques, fingering, and basic techniques in general. And I am currently studying Cello Performance at Bob Cole Conservatory of Music
