Kevin Karagozian
About
As an educator, I take what I like to call a student centered "music first" approach. I enjoy teaching how to hear and interpret music as a musician so that even when an instructor is not present, you can learn the music you want to play. This involves learning the mechanics of the instrument, as well as a mixture of ear training, and music theory. My main goal is to teach you how to fish and not just give you the fish. I play and teach guitar proficiently but bass (upright and electric) is my main instrument.
Kevin Karagozian is a bassist, educator, and composer from Southern California. Drawn to music at a young age, he eventually took a serious interest in jazz and the bass in high school. Kevin is currently an active sideman performing all across the Los Angeles and Orange County areas, Including at venues such as The Mint and Sam First. He has performed and continues to perform alongside musicians including Sam Hirsh, Bill Cunliffe, Rodolfo Zuniga and Kevin Kanner among others.
