Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new trainee, I like to do a series of drills to get an idea of their current skill level. After assessing their skill set, I am then able to figure out what it is that they specifically need to improve on. Every kid is different, so I work to develop their individual game in a way that best suits each athlete.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a retired basketball player myself. So I know first hand what it takes to get to the next level. I played in high school, four years in college, and overseas professionally. Given my experience as a player, I know the ins and outs of the game and the work that needs to be put in, in order to be successful in the sport of basketball.

How did you get started teaching?
My passion for training began back when I was in high school. We would run camps for the younger kids and I knew then that when I completed my basketball career, that I would want to assist others in excelling in theirs. As a father I introduced my children to the game. Training and working with them, gave me further confirmation for my love for teaching the game to others.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have trained a variety of different athletes that have different skill levels, ages, positions, and personalities. I've trained pros, semi-pros, and athletes at the recreational level. The key for me is to get to know each athlete to create a program that is most beneficial to them and how they work.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently one of my trainees signed for a full ride scholarship to Stanford to play basketball. I am her only trainer and was given the honor to be able to teach her all I know about the game to give her the tools she needed in order to be successful.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a trainer that best accommodates you and your needs. Work with someone who will bring the best out of you without tearing you down. It is important to find a trainer who will actually care about you and take the timeout to teach you. You want to find someone who genuinely has your best interest at hand. And most importantly find someone who will develop your skill set and take your game to the next level.
