Geet Barua is a teaching artist and producer with an inspiring spark who brings his heart and impressive skill set effortlessly to everyone with whom he works. He worked with us as the music head specialist for Music Ascension and mentored students to make electronic music.

Geet joined us as our Recording Studio Manager. His responsibilities included the day-to-day operation and management of the recording studio as a state of the art music teaching facility. Geet managed a team of 7 music instructors, ensuring that an effective teaching curriculum was delivered. Geet showed the ability, skill and emotional intelligence to work one on one with some of our more demanding campers. Geet always performed at a very high level in all elements of his work with us. Geet lead by example and was instrumental in building positive momentum within our Recording Studio offerings. He constantly showed good situational awareness and naturally identified situations that needed to be managed. His ability to connect and guide campers of all ages within the field of music is impressive.

It's incredible how his online program feels like being enrolled in a full-time music school with weekly video instruction and deadlines to complete assigned tasks. I became more disciplined and since I was not spending hours getting stuck thanks to his daily doubt clearance, my efficiency increased. Producing music is so easy now thanks to the way Geet delivers the information in a systematic and fun way .

In the past I have done a few pre recorded paid courses but never got results. Thus, I was skeptical to join Geet's program at first. But I was convinced to join after the consultation call as I genuinely appreciated Geet's passion to teach. And the program was more than I expected. His mentoring and the flexibility to WhatsApp him everyday whenever I got stuck was the best part of the course.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

After the client is qualified to receive mentoring from me, I schedule a call to discuss further. Each client has different goals thus it is important to schedule a free consultation call.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Berklee College of Music, Boston- Bachelor of Music (Audio Engineering and Electronic Music Production)

How did you get started teaching?
Most music producers go through years of feeling frustrated, confused and overwhelmed and 95% of them never make it even after years of hard work.
That’s really sad because music production is not rocket science. It’s really not that difficult!
Then why do so many producers quit or take many years to finally make a decent quality track?

I don’t want that producer to be you.
Thus, I want to teach you everything that I have learnt about music production and marketing.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Watching a student's face go red with excitement when his song was run through my Mixing and Mastering templates.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Only work with teachers with significant professional experience.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

How will the teacher help him/her when he/she is -

*Wasting time on YouTube tutorials yet struggling to start or finish songs
*Spending days mixing yet not close to a good quality mix
*Mastering by trial & error yet tracks sound different on various devices
*Confused if you need a fancy studio/expensive equipment/acoustic treatment to make good quality music
*Wondering why your track received less than a 100 streams even after spending tons on mix/master engineer, booking studio time
*Confused how to market your music, make your music videos, album art, website, distribute your music
*Tired of looking for an affordable music school providing 24*7 support and one-on-one mentoring services
