Hi my name is kennyken i play bass guitar. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Personally i like to get my student comfortable with knowing all parts of the bass and how they contribute to the sound of the bass.Then i teach the names of each string,notes on the fretboard,fingering technics,the difference between different notes,how to put them together to form a song,and some basic scale excersizes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My educational training was all hands on for over thirty yrs of observing performing and conversing with other musicians.
How did you get started teaching?
Performing shows.after the show fans would always ask me to teach them or their kids so i made it my business.
What types of students have you worked with?
10 yrs and older as long as they were interested.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be sure the teacher is pationate about his teaching.
