La Petit Artiste

Hello,

My name is Sarah Marie Huston (Sarah Marie Bostron) and I’ve been teaching art for to individuals of all ages. I am currently studying for a masters in Art Education from UF. I began painting and drawing at a very young age and have been very artistic and creative since. My family members were creative people, with knowledge in art, carpentry and design. My artistic family fostered my creativity, encouraged me to draw, paint, and to play with color and express myself artistically. I studied arts throughout my education. I became interested in photography my freshman year and have studied ever since. I attended a vocational commercial photography class during high school, learning all the basics of traditional film and darkroom photography, shooting black and white, E6 slide film, color C-41, camera settings, film processing, darkroom printing, and chemical mixing. In addition to the technical I learned the design essentials, composition, posing, composition, studio lighting, editing, photoshop, and styling. I have experience with all FILM SLR-types medium and large format, and digital.

After I graduated. I worked for both major photography processing companies. I was experienced at developing large quantities of film and enlargements. I was a professional photographer and I photographed children, families, graduates, professionals, portraits, in studio and on location. I became very successful as a local artist/ photographer and I worked for local talent agencies, and professional companies through the Denver metro area. My experience was shooting models, ads, fashion shows, burlesque; boudoir, product, weddings, portraits, live events, stills, fine art etc. I was published in local magazines, newspapers and featured and sold in local galleries and featured and sold in local vintage stores. My art became ads in local print. I was also featured in local newspapers. 

As I learned and explored many avenues of photography my love of fashion became strong: I wanted to be a successful fashion print photographer so I then relocated from Denver to Seattle and double majored in Fashion Marketing and Design to understand the background of what I was shooting. 

During my education at the Art Institute of Seattle I studied art history, psychology, humanities, design, art techniques, graphic art, illustration, paining, drawing, textile design, marketing, advertising, sewing, pattern making, visual merchandising, buying for fashion, video, advanced graphics, business operations and so much more.

I networked with many artists, locals, designers, community and business owners, in the Pacific Northwest. I ran a successful gallery and modeling agency. I designed retail widow fronts, store designs, visual merchandising and print work for ads. I created content for many local business small boutiques to large business. I created content for Nordstrom, Free People, Anthropologie and many others. My works were featured in Seattle Times and on local news Komo5. I created many ad campaigns and worked on production sets for films and commercials as stylist and wardrobe designer. My works were included in art gallery expos and in publications. I have won professional and artistic awards along the way.

After I graduated I continued my journey in art history/ education. I am currently in the process of completing my masters degree in art education from the University of Florida. 

I am based now in the Bay Area and have been sprinkling my content to many startups, individuals and businesses in the Bay Area. My recent creative ventures have been creating graphics, and photography content for social media, I do event planning and guided painting events. I shoot portraits and design and illustrate content for my local community. 

I am very versatile in my painting, photography and drawing skills. I love to collage and mix medias. I can paint and draw with all medias. I am an expert across the Adobe platform.
