Classical Colors
About
Hello, My name is Robyn, I am a painter/artist. I love to paint and even more love to teach others to create. Expression through color makes me feel many emotions. One example is when I use blue and purple together I feel spiritually connected.
I am a self taught artist of 50 years. At this time I am being formally trained and scholastically working on my Art History degree. Paintings I have created have been commissioned murals or canvases depicting either loved ones, pets, and in addition completion of a 2 year project to mural the interior of a home to look like a tuscan village.
One claim to fame is my "Equiis Rising" oil painting in the National Orange Show museum, San Bernardino, Ca. I took 1st place and the Show purchased my painting to become part of their collection.
Art is exciting and rewarding to learn and express. I love talking about art, teaching art and creating art. I recently taught at a studio in Upland,Ca showing students how to complete a painting in a day. Much of my work is available to view upon request.

How did you get started teaching?
I was approached by friends to teach them to draw
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students who were extremely intested in painting and creating. They have all been willing to learn and take instruction. I have also worked with people who do their own thing and ask me to aid, guide, and encourage them in their self expression.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Most recently I was honored to teach a room full of 10 year olds to paint an elephant. These young people were so fun and interactive and full of questions. What I loved the most was how they observed my demonstration, and caught on to the technique with out me saying anything. The class session was highly successful and everyone left with a masterpeice and smiley faces.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would suggest the student explore their internal space and be open to a new way of looking at things. Be open to change. Since nothing in nature is perfect, Let go of perfection.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I suggest the student ask themselves if they are teachble and open to instructions. Art is subjective and freeflowing, one begins to engage a whole new area of their life.
