Private Bass Guitar Lessons – Learn Real Groove & Technique This Summer (All Levels)

Hi neighbors,If you or your child want to learn bass guitar and know how to lock down a groove, I am opening up a few private lesson slots for the summer.

My name is Jason, and I’m a veteran gigging bass player right here in Sacramento. My teaching style completely skips the dry textbook theory and sheet music. Instead, I focus on the practical, real-world skills you need to play in a band: building an ironclad physical technique, mastering rhythm and timing, ear training, and learning how to hold down the pocket across multiple genres including rock, blues, jazz, and Latin music.

A unique feature of my lessons:

I utilize a modern audio interface setup. This means both the student and I can plug in and listen directly through headphones for a completely silent, noise-free lesson that won't disrupt the rest of the house. Alternatively, if noise isn't an issue, we can plug the interface directly into an amplifier or speakers. It’s highly flexible, clean, and perfect for any home environment.

Whether you're an absolute beginner picking up the instrument for the first time, or an intermediate player looking to sharpen your performance and fretboard knowledge, I tailor our sessions directly to the music you want to play.

What we will focus on:

Proper hand posture and physical technique to avoid injury and play fast

Ear training and learning songs by ear (no sheet music required)

Building a rock-solid sense of timing and lock-step rhythm

Mastering diverse grooves from rock and blues to complex Latin rhythms

Flexible, silent headphone setup or speaker playback optionsPractical tips on stage confidence, gear, and playing with other musicians

Lessons are relaxed, encouraging, and focused entirely on getting your hands on the strings and making music.
