Western Truck School is great. The material they offered in the courses is still with me even though I graduated six months ago. The instructors and staff were friendly and helpful.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

We have a qualification process to determine your needs and the ability for you to sucessfully join the trucking industry as a professional truck driver.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Our instructors all have a minimum of three years of Over-the-Road driving experience.  They are knowledgeable and up to date on the current rules and regulations that govern the trucking industry.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Yes, we have standard programs available, but we can also specially tailor a program for you based upon your specific situation and skill set.  We also have individualized one-on-one training programs too.

How did you get started teaching?

We've been in the training industry for 41 years now.  It is a family and veteran owned business ever since the first day way back...

What types of students have you worked with?

We work with all types of students.  The main requirment is your willingness to listen, learn and apply the skills that we teach.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Students often come to us without any job ready skills and have struggled to find and maintain consistent work.  In the trucking industry there is an abundance of opportunity and we get pre-hires from many of the major carriers even before you step foot in the classroom.  We change lives by providing a marketable skill that is able to provide a wealth of steady employment opportunities.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Check out their equiment, see if they are qualifed, licensed and accredited in their programs.  You don't want to shortchange your education and development at the expense of future job readiness and the immediate opportunities that come with a highly regarded school.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Understand a little about the trucking industry and be sure you are ready and commited to start in an entry level position.  As you progress and gain experience, your will have expended opportunities to choose your ideal situation with good pay and good benefits.
