Natalie’s Math & English Tutoring
About
Math and English are two topics that have always been significant for me to learn and to teach about. I currently am pursuing my B.S. in Math. I have taught kids in Math and English from ages 6-14. Finding a way to teach kids in a creative way enables them to understand the content-not just memorize it.
I am grateful to be able to have children in my life to teach. I know children are our future and every opportunity to better youth through education should be taken. Through their betterment in the basic and not-so-basic fundamentals of English and Math, children are able and willing to become lovers of learning.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
For the first two days, I work on getting to know my student's needs, skills, and excellences. I do this simply by working on their homework with them and watching them write or solve math problems. From there, I work with them to ensure continuing success and improvement in their area, while targeting problem areas in a way that helps strengthen their academic studies out of their previous weakness.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have tutored children from ages 6-14 for over two years as well as instructing groups of up to 13 children ages 6-18. I currently am earning my Mathematics Degree and plan on continuing to learn to teach in a Master's Program.

What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of varying need and ability. I have worked with struggling math and English students, as well as academically accomplished students. I enjoy bringing them to their highest ability.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for a teacher who is flexible to your needs and experiences. Too often teachers try to fit children in a box; there are many approaches which can help you understand new concepts in Math and English. Of course, it is also okay to have a more traditional learning style. Keep and open mind and you will find the teacher that can benefit your learning most.
