Fundamentals & Playing With Confidence - Big Brother Baseball & Basketball Instructor
About
I’m Adam, a dedicated baseball and basketball coach with a lifelong passion for both sports and have done lessons for both. Private Instructor, High School & Travel Club coach. My journey started on the field and court, playing baseball and basketball up to the college level, with a focus as a utility player being able to play all positions.
In baseball, I had the opportunity to receive pitching lessons from Dave Zall, a former MLB pitching coach, and hitting lessons from Kelly Parris, a former St. Louis Cardinals utility player. This top-tier training, combined with my expertise in bodybuilding, flexibility, and plyometrics, has equipped me to help athletes improve their skills, enhance their athleticism, and prevent injuries, ensuring they stay healthy and perform at their best throughout their journey.
My basketball career was significantly influenced by my training under Craig Griffin, a former Fresno collegiate player and head coach with over 20 years of experience. His coaching profoundly shaped my approach, emphasizing technique, strategy, and mindset.
Growing up, I was never the biggest, strongest, or most athletic kid, so I always had to put in extra time practicing with players who were better than me and working diligently on my fundamentals. This experience taught me the value of hard work and perseverance, lessons that I now pass on to my students.
As the oldest of five siblings, I’ve embraced the role of a mentor, guiding and motivating kids with a big brother approach. My coaching philosophy is built on fun and encouragement, focusing on improving skills while teaching valuable life lessons. I emphasize not just the physical aspects of sports, but also the mental side, helping kids develop confidence and resilience. I believe we don’t fail, we either win or we learn.
In addition to teaching the fundamentals of baseball and basketball, I prepare your child for life. My coaching helps them understand the importance of paying attention to detail, communicating effectively, being a respectful and good teammate. I also emphasize essential life skills like time management, creating good habits, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including a healthy diet and nutrition.
With over two decades of experience in customer service, including as a Sales Manager for the San Diego Gulls Hockey team, I bring strong communication and leadership skills to my coaching. My goal is to help your child not only excel in sports but also develop lifelong habits and mental resilience that will serve them well into adulthood.
To kickstart my business, I’m offering my coaching services at a fraction of the cost of other coaches. It would be an honor to work with your child and help them reach their full potential both on and off the field.
