About this pro

I carry a strong athletic background with levels of basketball experience. Former division 1 college athlete with professional experience and options still present. Attended the U.S. Air Force Academy and San Diego Christian College. 20+ years of basketball experience.

I have a bachelor of science degree in business administration & marketing. I am a So-Cal Realtor with eXp realty and partly own a service/carpet cleaning business as well.

I enjoy working with athletes of all ages and sharing/applying my basketball knowledge-aiming towards continuing improvement and skill development. I also enjoy making a difference in the community by positively impacting the youth and helping them achieve their goals both athletically, academically, and personally.

Anything involving the game of basketball, I enjoy. Playing, training, coaching-you name it. I'm an outgoing, dedicated, and reliable trainer.

I also offer nutritional tips and provide workout regimines on the side, as well as strength training sessions, if interested.

I had a great workout with Tyler he’s patient, breaks down drills for everyone to understand. Me and my brother trained with Tyler last weekend there was some moves we couldn’t keep up with and his willingness to repeat the drill over and over till we got it was amazing overall 5 stars would repeat.

Ty has been a great coach. My son, 14, has a great workout every time, and is learning a lot.

Very pleased to have my daughter be a part of Crossover Athletics. Coach Ty has made a positive impact on her game and confidence in a very short amount of time, and has already assisted in recruitment. If you are looking to improve your game and grow as an athlete, make sure to get connected with him!

Coach Ty at Crossover Athletics is a very professional and motivating trainer. He takes great interest in my son and has helped him improve his game in many aspects both offensively, defensively, and also overall basketball IQ. I’m appreciative for the connection I’ve made with Coach Ty and look forward to having him train my son throughout high school and college.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Warm up & stretching, shooting, ball handling, skill development/IQ, defensive principles, enhanced footwork, and more.

I relate to each client in different ways, making sure together we take the right approah towards improvement on the court. Objectives and goals are set out for each athlete to excel to their desired next level. At Crossover Athletics, goals become realities with detailed training, consistency, and dedication.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Basketball experience at all levels. Former division 1 college athlete. Elite development basketball trainer of all ages. Bachelor's degree that incorporated sports marketing. Strong basketball connections countrywide in high shool, AAU, college, and professional levels.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Ranging from $55.00-$85.00 per lesson or group lesson, depending. Lessons/sessions run on average for 1 hour-1.5 hours depending on preference, skill level, stamina, etc. Group sessions are available as well with discounted pricing. I am flexible and work with my athletes to meet their needs.

How did you get started teaching?

Love and passion for the game. Started my business towards the end of college. Being an athlete most of my life at high levels and connecting with individuals and clients continually. Basketball has provided avenues and opportunities for me that I am blessed to enjoy while giving back to others. I love what I do related to the game and I am always striving for growth and improvement for my athletes, focusing on the most effective ways I can push them to reach their goals.

What types of students have you worked with?

Youth athletes through high school, college, and adult athletes. Varies. All are welcome.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Youth summer basketball camp that I participated in/helped run. Loved the environment and enthusiasm by all the kids I worked with and trained. I take pleasure in seeing the youth improve and excel.

To be honest, each of my training sessions are events that I continue to be fond of on a regular basis, as I enjoy basketball training passionately whenever I get the opportunity.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Look for background experience and resume. Experience and knowledge is very key. Connections can be too for those who have goals to pursue the next level.

Personality and relationship is important as well. There should be a connection between the student and the instructor with common goals shared. I do my part to insure that I am a reliable, outgoing, and personable trainer that cares about each of my clients.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Their specific needs, how hard they are willing to work, the goals they want to accomplish, and how the teacher/trainer can aid them in every way possible to help improvement and success on the court, in the weight room, classroom, etc.
