Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Lessons are a step by step process. We start with basic car control skills like right and left turns, backing, changing lanes, speed concepts, space between cars, and approaching traffic signal lights. Each lesson continues to add skills and experience culminating with a completion certificate and evaluation.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All driving instructors are licensed with the DMV, have dual brakes for safety, and commercial driving instructor insurance. Instructors must have background checks and cars which are regularly inspected. More experienced instructors have worked with a wide range of students, teens through mature drivers. We also take students to the DMV for drivetests, we are knowlegeable regarding latest laws and requirements to successfully pass.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We offer 2 hrs. for $115 for brushup lessons, 6 hrs. for $295 (required for teens in California), and 10 hrs. for $450( a very popular package for additional practice and brushup. We also provide a car for drivetests at $125.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Avoid looking for only the lowest price. There is usually some catch. Lessons should be one on one. No other students should be in the car while you are doing your lessons. When can I schedule my next lesson? Are there any hidden fees? Certificate? Pickup? Do they pick up at home or school, or do you have to go to them?
