About
At Prima Materia Institute, we've hacked creativity. Our secret to accelerated training and astonishing results is our method of teaching, using the Right Brain. We have transformed those who thought they could never draw into amazing artists, and taken artists from their current level to where they want to be but didn't know how to get there or didn't know if it was possible for them.
Drawing and painting as a unique artist is possible! I'll show you how.
I love to help people "get it." It is so rewarding to guide artists, beginners or advanced, to their aspirations. I facilitate artists in their unique style, without pushing my opinions or preferences onto them. I love to draw and paint myself, so whenever my students want to try new mediums or techniques, I'm always an advocate. My philosophy is "If you want something you've never had, you must be willing to do something you've never done."

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We offer open enrollment, meaning you can join anytime.
In any of our classes, you are taught how to draw and paint like YOU. You'll learn tools and techniques that you can apply outside of the studio. Many of our students become professional artists and begin selling and exhibiting their works. This is our hope for all of our students - that you'll take what you've learned and create something new and interesting with it.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We effectively deliver our unique curriculum based on the mentorship programs of the European Old Masters combined with the latest understanding of how the human brain learns new skills.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Individual Art Classes - $70/hour
What types of students have you worked with?
We've worked with all kinds of students. From beginners to advanced, teenagers to mature adults, drawers to painters.
Our studio does not teach just one technique or medium. We believe in order to become a true artist, you must experiment with pencils, charcoals, acrylic, tempera, oils, clay, etc. That's why every month, we have projects that rotate so you'll constantly have something new to explore.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Hire a teacher that you respect, both as an artist and as a person. It's important to work with an instructor that will take you outside of your comfort zone.
The best thing you can do is visit the studio in person and talk to the instructor before you take any classes.
