The Color Place
About
I enjoy inspiring creativity in any method I teach. I have equipped my studio in the historic Gaslamp District to be a creative haven for students and a restul colorful place to be!
I have taught everything from drawing and painting to mixed media and collage. My 23 year career also includes the creation and development of ColorIQ which is a professional certification program for architectural color consultants, designers and architects.
I also teach all ages in group classroom classes or individual private lessons.

I especially enjoy motivating my students to find their inner creativity. Watching the spark grow into beautiful artwork is very satisfying and bonding with new artists is the icing on the cake.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My process is easy and straight forward. Private instruction is designed around the student. I provide an outline of policies, and materials required for a successful class to each student. The student schedule is worked out according to the students requirements and that's it!...We begin our art journey together!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was a fine art major in school and started my career as a teacher teaching an art program to the public schools in Seattle.
I have also authored several internationally recognized instruction and certification courses for design professionals that I teach both online and in the classroom.
My personal artwork is typically commissioned for private collectors but ocassionally I exhibit in shows and galleries.
I truly enjoy bringing the creative process to every one of my students!
