Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will have a conversation with you about what your needs are. Do you want a lesson? Do you want choreography? For what purpose? A performance? Just for yourself? What kind of dance do you want to learn or practice? Are you an advanced dancer or an absolute beginner? How old are you? Where do you live? From there I can have a better idea of how to guide you through the process.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My formal training in ballet and contemporary dance spans for over 19 years, including a professional career with three separate companies over the course of four years.
Most recently, I have been working successfully as a freelance dancer, choreographer, and instructor for over five years in the San Francisco Bay Area and I couldn't be happier.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Minimum rate is $50 per 2hr session. All lessons are virtual at this time.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching as a young choreographer for Santa Cruz Ballet Theater during my teen years. As a young adult, I began choreography and instruction for the Missouri Contemporary Ballet as well as their satellite school, Presser Performing Arts Center. Currently I freelance choreograph and teach in a variety of dance groups and independently.
