I travel to homes and businesses to teach BLS, CPR, ACLS and First Aid classes throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. I also specialize in creating non-certification classes for new and expecting parents.  There is no mimimum number of students needed to set up a class with me.

I'm an instructor for the American Heart Asssociation and the American Red Cross and have taught classes for several thousands of people over the past eight years.  I'm a former EMT and home healthcare worker and I always try to keep my classes interactive, fun, fast-paced, and with plenty of time to ask questions.

My goal for every class is simple -- that my students leave feeling confident that they will be able to use the skills we practiced in a real medical emergency.

I enjoy meeting new people, and knowing they are better prepared to handle a medical emergency.

I have been in practice for over 25 years, so I have had instruction in BLS many times and Chris is by far the best instructor ever. He explained everything in a clear concise manner, making the new changes easy to understand and remember. He arrived on time, he stayed on track and before we knew it the review was over and we actually had fun!

As an independent businesswoman, it was refreshing to work with someone who believes as I do: that punctuality, professionalism, kindness, and good customer relations are worthy goals to achieve. And Chris certainly achieved them. When I first contacted him, I was struck by his kindness and his professionalism. He treated my questions and concerns with aplomb. He called to remind me of our appointment, a much appreciated act, as it shows the attention to detail that I admire. And, finally, while giving the course, he kindly yet thoroughly covered the material, and ensured that I understood it, both in theory and in practice. In short, Chris was a treasure to work with, and I look forward to next year when I can work with him again.

My family had the pleasure of having Chris teach us a class that in my opinion is not an option if you choose to have children — it’s mandatory. I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter, and my husband and I have taken other CPR classes. We never felt quite secure with ourselves if an emergency situation occurred. After the class with Chris, we felt so much better! Our personal questions were answered in our home. I never imagined a choking/CPR class could be personalized for our family! It really put me at ease.
Chris has an amazing way of speaking in a way that is easy to grasp. And, unlike other classes, you don’t have 40+ people asking questions. You have him all to yourself to ask all the questions you feel will help you in an emergency. Chris also provided state of the art equipment to help aid in demonstration, none that I had seen before.
Parents, I urge you to seek out Chris for this priceless class — it’s so well worth it!

Q & A

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

If you are ready to set up a class with me, have a few dates/times in mind, and we will find a date/time that works for both of us.

Feel free to contact me if you have questions about what class would be the best fit for you.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I was a California certified EMT.  I also worked in home healthcare.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

You can find pricing tables on my website.  The more people you have taking our class, the less I need to charge per person.

How did you get started teaching?

I started as an American Red Cross volunteer.

What types of students have you worked with?

The fun part of my job is the different people I meet -- many of whom I probably wouldn't have met otherwise.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Three former students performed CPR on a co-worker and saved her life.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Make sure the teacher is an instructor for a recognized organization like the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

If you have any challenges, especially physical ones, please let me know.
