Bills Defensive Driving School

Most driving schools are focused on just passing a driving test which is where we differ most . We are more focused on creating safe and confident drivers. With a focus on defensive driving techniques that are usually only acquired after years and years of driving. We Pick up and drop off from home. Our vehicles are dual equipped newer mid sized sedans. We encourage whomever the student will be practicing with most to also come along this way we can advise them on what specific things to practice in between sessions.

Bill Allenbaugh - Class 1, Haz Mat, Air, and Tanker endorsements. Instructor license 10 years; Owner and Operator's licenses 8 years. Driver Instructor training license 7 years. Initial training by former CHP Officer. College graduate wih honors. Long time Bay Area resident. Proud father and grand father.

Bill's professional expertise behind the wheel literally started rolling years ago as he logged hundreds of thousands of miles driving large commercial trucks and class a vehicles for various companies. In later years , while still working full time , Bill pursued and completed a degree in Sociology. He also did part time counseling. While working on his Masters Degree in Social work, a friend invited him to become a driving instructor part time at an established driving school. Suddenly a new road opened up for Bill. He genuinely enjoyed being an instructor, interacting with his students helping them overcome fears while learning how to become safe alert and responsible drivers. He went on to teach at another driving school operated by a retired California Highway Patrol officer where he gained new perspectives on driving education while developing his own skills. In August of 2007, Bill opened his own school becoming principal owner/operator instructor of Bill's Defensive Driving School.
