Village Music provides fun, inspiring music lessons to students of all ages and ability levels. Located at 9th ave and Judah in the Inner Sunset district, we provide quality, individual lessons to enable the musician in each person. All the teachers here are professional musicians as well as long time teachers who have worked with people from all backgrounds. Whether it's a six year old being introduced to music for the first time, or an adult looking to find their own creative voice, we can provide the right environment for him/her.
Our teachers enjoy seeing the talent in each student come to life through creating a fun and positive environment, as well as helping each student find their own expressive and creative voice.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
For kids, creating a fun and supportive environment to build a foundation of rhythm, movement, singing, creativity, reading, and writing music.
For adults, working with their own expectations and experience to bring out the musician in them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All the teachers here either have degrees in music, or have been playing and performing music their entire lives, as well as teaching for many years. They all have a myriad of experiences in different styles and settings.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
The first 30 minute lesson is FREE. Pricing varies per instructor. However, most lessons average between $60-70 per hour. Contact us for rates.

Our teachers have worked with students from all backgrounds, from a six year old beginner, to professional musicians and songwriters looking to go deeper with their craft.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Hearing that an adult student has gotten a set of tools to grow independantly as a musician. In other words, they feel they don't need lessons anymore, and can go ahead on their own.
